How To Install Hurricane Shield Fabric Clips

These instructions are for fastening the clips to the fabric. You must consult the Florida Product Approval #17003 for installation instructions to determine clip frequency and all other information related to how wide or tall a fabric panel can be as well as the type of anchors that can be used.

1.   Lay the Hurricane Shield panel shiny side up on a flat work surface. Insert the fabric up to the two holes just before the large hole at the narrow end of the clip. The first and last clip must be attached at the edges of the fabric.

2.  Fold the clip over and hold tight. Make sure the fabric is snug to the holes as in the figure above. Start the three clip screws with your fingers and hold firmly. Make sure clip is straight and fully inserted. Now tighten the three screws with a drill until fully seated. It is best to start with the center screw, then tighten the upper and lower screws as shown below.

3.  After tightening all three screws securely, look at the clip from the side. You should see all three screws securely seated as in the image below.

4.  Now flip the clip over and look at the screw tips. All three screw tips should be just slightly below the protective ring as shown in the image below. You should be able to feel the tips but not sharply. If you cannot feel the tips, slowly tighten the screw until fully seated.
