Glossary of Terms

Questions about any of the input items in the estimate calculator?  See below!

Substrate

This is the primary construction material that the home is made of, which can include concrete, CMU or hollow block, grout-filled CMU, or wood frame, any of which may have siding or brick on the exterior (anchor must attach into the substrate, not the siding or brick).

Within 5’

Is this window or opening within 5’ of a major corner of the home?

Attachment Sides

These are the sides to which you will attach the clips. Typically, you should attach clips on the left and right sides, but obstructions may require clips to be on top and bottom. Occasionally, a third or fourth side can be added for extra holding power, but it is not required.

Anchor Type

Anchors depend on the substrate to which you are attaching. Most applications will use the male or female EA Bolts or Panelmates.
